How to Register
We understand registration may be confusing, especially if you are now to our sport. Don't worry, we are here to make things as easy as possible for you!
Steps to take:
1. Select Your Club
Hills Football has 21 local Hills based clubs you can chose from. You are able to select any of these based on your preferences. Each club offers different programs, pricing, locations and options. Its up to you and your research as to which club you select. On our home screen, you will notice the list of all 21 clubs and "MORE INFORMATION" about each. Here you can determine which club best suits your needs.
2. Register within Playfootball.com
Each player must register through the Football Federation Australia's National registration platform, Play Football. After you have selected your club, click "REGISTER". This will link you directly to that clubs profile within the registration system.
Once you are on the Play Football portal, select "Start my Registration" and begin to follow the prompts.
Within this process, you can enter you kids "Active Kids" Voucher entitling you to a $100 discount towards your registration fees.

3. Complete!
Once you have registered, you will receive and automated response for confirmation. Closer to the season, you will then receive information from your club about trials, training, grading and other relevant information. Make sure you follow you clubs Facebook page as most information is shared on this platform.

Whether you are new to the game, an experienced player or like to play for fun there are many opportunities you can partake in within the Hills District. Hills Football provides footballing opportunities through our 21 member clubs for girls, women, toddlers as young as 3, boys, men, special needs, new arrivals to the country, walking football for over 45’s, powerchair football and representative football. There are programs that run through the winter season, training programs year round as well as small sided games in summer competitions, so that everyone is catered for.

When do Registrations Open?
Registrations for the 2021 Winter Football Season Open on the 4th January 2021.
How much is registration?
Registration fees vary from each club and each age group. Please ensure you check out each of our 21 clubs information pages to find out specific pricing.
The standard fees are for the 2021 Winter Football competition that consists of 18 matches, plus finals should your team make it through. Some clubs have optional extras such as equipment, clothing and extended coaching opportunities. Hills Football also offers further programs such as Holiday Clinics and Player Development Programs.
Registration fees go towards:

- Hills Football, Football NSW & Football Federation Australia administration fees

Do you accept Active Kids Vouchers?
Yes! Active Kids Vouchers can be used during your registration process. Each School aged child is eligible for 2x $100 vouchers per year to be used towards the registrations of sport. How old do you have to be to play football?
Hills Football and our clubs offer programs for players over the age of 3 years old.
- 3-5 years = Little Legends (CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION)
- 4-12 Years = Mini Roos / MiniTildas Club Football
Players can play well into their adult years with options available for;
- Over 35s Mens
- Over 35s Womens
- Over 45s Mens

I am a coach of a team. I would like to participate in a course to improve my ability, how do I go about this?
Hills Football conducts many courses for coaches throughout the season. The courses on offer are:
- Grass Roots Course - 5 to 8 year olds (3 hours)
- Skill Aquisition - 9 to 13 year olds (14 hours)
- Game Training - 13 to 17+ year olds (14 hours)
- C License (49 hours)

My child is interested in participating in further training and coaching, where can we do this?
Hills Football offers options for players who are looking for extra training throughout the year.
The Hills Football Development Program is an initiative to give access to all Hills Footballers aged between 7 and 12 – Male and Female – the chance to develop their skills at an affordable rate. The program is for players of all ability, skill level and division. This model is designed to increase participation and time on the ball, with an age group focus to ensure the best possible development outcomes. Participating players could be identified for future talent identification programs and opening pathways at various levels. To find out more information regarding this program, please CLICK HERE.
Hills Football also offers Holiday Clinics for players to attend during the school holidays, these clinics offer further football activities throughout the year. We are currently working on the delivery of these clinics for 2021 with more details to come out shortly, be sure to keep an eye out on the Hills Football website and Facebook page where we will promote updates on these clinics.
There are various Private Academies and Training providers who operate across Sydney. Hills Football urges you proceed with caution prior to joining. Ensure you do your due diligence on their programs, pricing, coaching staff and perceived opportunities promised. There are many excellent providers on the market, however there are also unfortunately some that are not so good.
When does the season start and how long does it go for?
The 2021 season starts on the 9th, 10th and 11th April. The full list of dates can BE FOUND HERE.
The standard season length is 18 - 21 rounds, plus a finals series for competitive age groups should your team finish in the top 4. Most teams play in pre season trial matches, however this is dependant on your club.
Throughout the year, there are also further opportunities to play more games within competitions such as the State Cup & Gala Days. these are also determined by your club.
What days do we play?
Most matches are played on the following nights. Occasionally, your time might play a mid week catch up match should it be required.
Friday Nights:
- Ladies Over 35s
- Mens Over 35s (Friday Division)
- Mens All Age, 35s and 45s Overflow
Saturdays:
- Mixed Mini Roos 5-11yo
- Mixed Youth 12-21yo
- Mens All Age (With matches on Fridays & Sundays)
- Mens Premier League
- Mens Over 35s (With matches on Fridays & Sundays)
- Mens Over 45s (With matches on Fridays & Sundays)
Sundays:
- Girls Youth
- Ladies All Age
- Mens All Age, Over 35s and 45s Overflow
Note: in 2021, selected matches in the Mens All Age, Mens 35s and Mens 45s will play matches on Sundays. This is simply due to the lack of field availability on Saturdays. These age groups will NOT be exclusive on Saturdays.
Im a beginner, can i join?
Of course!
The beauty of Football is that its for all players of all ability, no matter your age or gender. Most age groups generally have lower divisions that are ideal for beginners or those new to our sport, this includes ladies football.
Our Little Legends Program is an introductory for football aimed at 3-5 year olds. 5-9 year olds play in the Mini Roos but dont worry, most kids of that age are new to the sport too. Its the learning phase of football and the programs are designed with the emphasis on Skill Acquisition rather than winning.
Do you have Girls Only Teams?
Yes!
Girls Only football starts at under 9s with many of our clubs offering teams in this competition. the girls only age groups are:
- Under 8s

- Under 10s
- Under 11s
- Under 12s
- Under 13s
- Under 14s
- Youth Girls
- All Age Ladies
- Over 35 Ladies
Can i try before i register?

Many of our clubs also offer Come & Try Days, or allow you to attend a few pre season matches or training sessions. Please ask your local club for more information.
Im new to the area and to football, which club should i select?
Hills Football has 21 clubs to select from. Each club offers different programs, prices, inclusions and offerings. You should select a club that meets your needs.
On our home page lists all 21 clubs and shows a map of where they are each located.
If you are unsure on which club is best for you, please reach out to us and we will help guide you through.
What equipment do i need to purchase to play?
All players who play in programs ages 5 and over must wear Football Boots, Shin Pads and their clubs football uniform. All other equipment is provided by your club.
When selecting your football boots, its recommended to purchase moulded studs rather than metal or screw in studs.
Little Legends Program participants will not be required to wear football boots. They only need to wear joggers.
